Was (pleasantly) surprised to see that an article on hair loss made the front page of Yahoo today! It was an article from Johns Hopkins University called “Top 6 Causes of Hair Loss” (in men and women).
The article contains pertinent information for anyone wondering WHY their hair is falling out, and what solutions exist for both men and women.
So check it out!

I stumbled upon some fantastic news recently and so I wanted to share it with you all: for the first time, legislation to improve insurance coverage for people with alopecia areata has been introduced in Congress!
The bill, “HR 5936”, would require Medicaid to pay for one scalp prosthesis per year for those with the most serious forms of the disease.
But we need to be PRO-ACTIVE in order to get this bill enacted into law. So let’s work together to build support for the bill!
How? All you need to do is contact your Representative in Congress and urge him/her to co-sponsor HR 5936.
Why? Because by co-sponsoring the bill, a Representative shows his/her public support for it. The more co-sponsors, the more support a bill has in Congress, and so the greater the chance it will become law!
To make it even simpler, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation has pre-written your message! So all you need to do is copy/paste it and sign before emailing/mailing/faxing it to your Representative in Congress.
And to find the name and contact info of your Representative, you can visit house.gov and enter your zipcode+4 in the upper left corner.

Hi friends! Just wanted to give you an update regarding my next workshops (the last one took place on Sunday June 1st, and featured the lovely Annette (aka Crowned Regal)! I’ll be posting our workshop videos on my YouTube channel as quickly as I can so stay tuned!
So, here’s a rundown of my next scheduled appearances/workshops:
June 22-June 23: I’m coming to Schaumburg (just outside of Chicago), and can be found at the Hip Salon (our satellite salon), where consultations will be available from 10am to 5pm.
June 29: I’ll be hosting another alopecia workshop in Philadelphia at the Four Points Sheraton (located at 9461 Roosevelt Blvd) from 10am to 5pm.
July 19-July 20: You can find me at our new Calgary location at the Angles Salon, from 10am to 5pm, where I’ll be hosting another workshop!
